IN-CYLINDER MAGNETOSTRICTIVE POSITION SENSOR

SGM-PR10 Hydraulic Cylinder Position Sensor — In-Cylinder Magnetostrictive Rod, 25–8000 mm

SGM-PR10 is a rod-type magnetostrictive position sensor built into the bore of a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder. The pressure-resistant tube takes 35 MPa continuous (70 MPa peak), stroke is 25–8000 mm, and the sensor reports absolute piston position as 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, RS485 or SSI with no homing after power loss.

FAQ

SGM-PR10 — Frequently Asked Questions

How is the SGM-PR10 installed in a hydraulic cylinder?
The pressure tube goes into a gun-drilled hole in the piston rod and the flange screws into the cylinder end cap with an M18×1.5 or M20×1.5 thread. A ring magnet is fixed to the piston. The electronics head stays outside the pressure zone, so the head can be replaced without opening the hydraulic circuit.
What pressure can the SGM-PR10 rod withstand?
The pressure tube is rated 35 MPa continuous and 70 MPa peak, according to the SGM-PR10 datasheet.
What is the measuring range of SGM-PR10?
SGM-PR10 is orderable from 25 to 8000 mm in 5 mm steps. Longer ranges and special temperature or pressure versions are available on request.
How do I read the SGM-PR10 ordering code?
The code follows SGM-PR10-<mounting>-<range>-<output>-<connection>[-options]. For example SGM-PR10-18-00600-I1F-K16 means: Rod type, M18×1.5, 600 mm, 4–20 mA, M16 connector. The full option list is in the ordering-code table on this page and in the datasheet.
What is the MOQ and lead time for SGM-PR10?
MOQ is 1 piece. Samples ship in 5–7 working days, production orders in 3–5 weeks, and we reply to every RFQ within 24 hours.
