Certification & Import Notes for Canada

  • Electrical products used in Canada need an approval mark recognised by the Standards Council of Canada where the Canadian Electrical Code requires it. CSA and cUL certification are not among the certifications we hold; UL applies to select models only — ask us which. Confirm what your installation or OEM customer requires before ordering.
  • Hazardous areas: our explosion-protected magnetostrictive models are SE-LX (flameproof) and SE-PR30 (intrinsically safe). Tell us the zone, gas group and temperature class; certificate details for the specified model come with the quotation.
  • Duties, taxes and customs brokerage are arranged by your broker; quotations are FOB China.
Certifications we state site-wide: ISO 9001:2015, CE, RoHS and UKCA; ATEX/IECEx on selected hazardous-area models; UL on select models. Hazardous-area magnetostrictive models carry the SE prefix (SE-LX flameproof, SE-PR30 intrinsically safe); certificate details are provided with the quotation. Certificate copies on request.

Hydraulic Cylinder Position Sensors for Canada — FAQ

What stroke lengths are available?
SGM-PR10 and SGM-PE10 cover 25–8000 mm, SGM-PR20 covers 25–7500 mm and the intrinsically safe SE-PR30 covers 25–4000 mm. The stroke is set in the ordering code, and each series page lists the dead zones and ordering examples.
Can the sensor be retrofitted into existing cylinders?
Yes, if the piston rod can be gun-drilled for the sensor rod and a ring magnet fitted to the piston — usually done when the cylinder is rebuilt. If drilling is not possible, the external SGM-PE10 profile sensor can be mounted alongside the cylinder.
Will the sensor work in Canadian winters?
SGM-PR10 operates from -40 to +85 °C and is rated IP67; the stainless SGM-PR20 is rated IP68. For extreme cold, protect cables and connectors from ice and mechanical damage, as for any mobile-equipment electronics.
Do you offer cUL or CSA certified versions?
CSA and cUL certification are not among the certifications we hold. UL applies to select models only, so ask us for the specific part. If your OEM customer or installation requires a Canadian approval mark, please tell us before ordering.
What are shipping and duties to Canada?
We quote FOB China. International freight, duties, taxes and customs brokerage into Canada are arranged by your forwarder or broker. Samples ship in 5–7 working days, production takes 3–5 weeks and payment is 100% T/T in advance.
