In-cylinder rod sensors: SGM-PR10 (25–8000 mm, M18×1.5 mounting, 35 MPa continuous / 70 MPa peak, IP67), SGM-PF10 (flat head, 25–8000 mm, 35 MPa, IP68), SGM-PF20 (compact embedded flange, 25–4000 mm, IP68), SGM-PR40 (compact rod, 25–4000 mm, 35 MPa, IP68) and SGM-PR50 (miniature, 25–4000 mm, 35 MPa, IP68). For hazardous areas the SE-PR30 is an intrinsically safe version (25–4000 mm).
Which outputs are available?
Per series, as stated in the datasheets: analog 4–20 mA, 0–20 mA and 0–10 V (0–5 V on SGM-PR20; 0.5–4.5 V, 0–5 V and 4–20 mA on SE-PR30, other outputs such as 0–10 V on request), RS485 Modbus RTU on all SGM series, and SSI on SGM-PR10 and SGM-PE10 (on request on SGM-PR20 and SGM-PF10). Profinet is available on request on SGM-PR10 / SGM-PE10. SE-LX level transmitters offer 2-wire 4–20 mA + HART (parameters settable with a HART handheld communicator), 4-wire 4–20 mA / 0–10 V and RS485. If your installed sensor uses an interface not listed here, tell us — we will say plainly whether we can supply it.
What accuracy do SEGMENsensor magnetostrictive sensors have?
The values are in each series datasheet. SGM-PR10, SGM-PE10, SGM-PR20 and SGM-PF10: non-linearity <±0.01% FS (min ±50 µm), repeatability <±0.001% FS (min ±5 µm), 16-bit D/A analog resolution. SGM-PF20, SGM-PR40, SGM-PR50, SGM-LS10 and SGM-LK10: repeatability ±0.005 mm. SE-LX level transmitters: resolution 1 mm or 0.1 mm. Compare these with the requirement of your application rather than with another product's headline figure.
Will the replacement be mechanically and electrically identical?
Not automatically. Dimensions, mounting thread and connector pin assignment are defined by our datasheet drawings (SGM-PR10 mounting: M18×1.5 or custom-made). Where your installation needs a different thread, flange, cable or pin assignment we check whether it can be built, and we send a drawing and wiring table for your approval before production. Check the magnet or float as well: we supply matched position magnets and floats for each series.
What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?
Qualification samples of 1–5 pcs ship in 5–7 days; production lead time and MOQ are confirmed with the quotation. Custom stroke, connector, output or housing options are confirmed with the quotation, which is sent within 24 hours on working days.
