Which transducer do I need?
Choose A2 for liquid up to +80 °C, H1A up to +130 °C and H2A up to +180 °C; each pair covers DN25–DN1200. Every configuration is the U11 transmitter with one pair of transducers; options and extra cable are added on top. For small pipes (DN15–DN40) or pipes above DN1200, ask our engineers.

- Transducer cable: 9 m standard, custom up to 274 m.
- Insertion transducers: tell us the pipe material so the mounting base matches it. Standard pressure rating 1.6 MPa.
How do I install the U11?
The U11 installs from outside the pipe in four steps, with no cutting and no shutdown. The diagrams come from the U11 user manual.
- Mount the back frame
Fit the back frame to the transmitter, vertical or horizontal, then fix it to the wall with expansion screws in Ø6 mm holes at 228 × 178 mm.
- Choose a straight, full pipe
After a 90° bend, leave at least 10 pipe diameters upstream and 5 downstream. Valves and pumps need longer runs — see the manual.
- Strap on the transducers
Mount them at 3 or 9 o'clock on horizontal pipes, never at the top or bottom. V method is standard; Z method gives a stronger signal on large pipes.
- Enter the pipe data
Key in the pipe size, material and liquid. The meter shows the transducer spacing; set it and read the flow.

Frequently asked questions
Will the U11 work on my pipe?
The U11 measures full pipes carrying a single, sound-conducting liquid such as water or chilled water. The clamp-on configurations on this page cover DN25–DN1200 at up to +80 °C (A2), +130 °C (H1A) or +180 °C (H2A). If you are unsure, send us the pipe size, material, liquid and temperature and our engineers will reply by email within one working day.
How is the U11 different from the U10?
The U11 is the high-accuracy model: ±0.5% and 0.1% repeatability against ±1% and 0.2% for the U10, a wider velocity range of ±0.01 to ±12 m/s, AC or DC power, and an FPGA-based signal processor that rides through bubbles or particles for up to 5 s. Choose the U10 when ±1% is enough for the job.
What does the price include?
The price is per unit and includes the transmitter with its back frame, one pair of transducers with cable, two 1.3 m pipe straps for pipes up to DN300, coupling compound, the user manual and a factory calibration report. UPS shipping is added at checkout. Import duty and tax are not included; you pay them in your country on import.
My pipe is larger than DN300. How many straps do I need?
The two pipe straps in the box are 1.3 m long and fit pipes up to DN300. Each transducer is held by one strap loop around the pipe, and the loop needs about 3.14 × the pipe outside diameter, plus a little to tighten. Extra straps are the same 1.3 m straps and join onto the standard ones, so every extra pair adds 1.3 m to both loops. Work out what your pipe needs and choose the number of extra pairs in step 1 of the configurator; they are charged per pair, and the price is shown before you pay. If your pipe is DN300 or smaller and you want spares, add spare pairs of 1.3 m straps under Options in step 3.
Can the U11 measure heating or cooling energy?
Yes. Add the energy (BTU) option in step 3: it fits an RTD module and a pair of clamp-on PT1000 temperature sensors with 9 m cable, and the meter then calculates heating or cooling energy from flow and the supply and return temperatures.
Which outputs can I have?
Two of five outputs are wired at the factory: 4–20 mA, pulse / OCT, relay, RS232 Modbus or RS485 Modbus. You choose the two in the configurator, at no extra cost. HART is available on request and replaces RS232; email us for the price.
Do I pay import duty when the meter arrives?
Yes. Import duty, VAT or GST and any customs fees are paid by you as the importer, and the rates depend on your country. UPS or your customs broker will ask for payment before or at delivery. We send the commercial invoice and packing list with the shipment and by email, and help with customs questions about the product.
When will my order arrive?
We ship from our factory within 2 weeks of payment. UPS then usually takes 3–5 working days to deliver. The configurator shows an estimated delivery date before you pay.
Can I order 10 or more units?
Yes. For 10 units or more, email info@segmensensor.com with the part number and quantity. Our engineers recalculate the price for your quantity and reply by email.
